What is it about The Philippine Islands that make so many visitors kill themselves?
Three favorite ploys of murderous police are "Suicide", "Killed while attempting to escape" and "He took my gun and we had to defend ourselves".
The Korean was probably murdered by other Koreans whom the police are protecting. In a few days the police will say the man killed himself over a "woman". Yes, right.

Korean national hangs self inside hotel room

MANILA, Philippines - Police are digging deeper into the alleged suicide of a Korean national whose body was discovered inside the comfort room of a hotel in Malate, Manila before midnight Wednesday. Dong Ho Shin, alias Charles Shin, 41, was already dead when the staff of Sohotel found his body at around 11 p.m., according to Manila Police District’s homicide section head Chief Inspector Alberto Peco.
Shin was in a sitting position, his body leaned against the wall of the comfort room ((Bathroom)). Pieces of tied torn clothes were looped around his neck, with the other end tied to a shower handle. He was clad in black t-shirt and denim pants.
Peco said the victim’s body was already stiff and cold when found, indicating that he could be dead for several hours. Investigators noted no other external injury except for deep V-shaped welt marks around the victim’s neck. The victim’s room was in order, with consumed bottles of mineral water and soft drink. A man’s wristwatch and a wallet containing P320 were on top of a side table. A white paper written with Korean words was also discovered on the table.
Peco said he has sought the assistance of the Korean embassy to decipher the letter. “We are still not sure whether it was a suicide note,” he told The STAR. The case will be further investigated until we are sure that the victim indeed committed suicide, Peco said.
Investigators said Shin was a regular customer of Sohotel located at the corner of Mabini and San Andres, Malate, Manila. He checked in at the hotel Tuesday night and paid P1,600 for a 24-hour stay at a de luxe room.
After the lapse of his rent the following day, hotel staff called on Shin to ask whether he will extend his stay. However, he failed to answer the calls, prompting hotel personnel to check on him. Using a duplicate key to open his locked room, the hotel staff discovered his body. The staff told police they did not notice anything unusual in Shin’s behavior when he checked in.
