Philippine imports plunged 31.5 percent year on year to 3.4 billion dollars in November 2008, the government said Tuesday amid an electronics demand meltdown that has caused thousands of job losses.
November imports of electronics parts, which are assembled at Philippine factories into finished products for shipment abroad, fell 41.9 percent from a year ago, having already suffered a 30 percent annual drop in October.

In the P.I. when one party breaks his/her contract with you or your company, It takes 37 procedures and 842 days at a cost of 26% of the claim to enforce a commercial contract through the courts. Since you are a foreigner you do not have a snowball's chance in hell of winning a claim where you were wrongfully harmed!

President Arroyo is considered to be the most corrupt Philippine President in history, while a scandal over government kickbacks in a telecom deal that broke in the beginning of 2008 has led to demonstrations and popular demand for the President's resignation.
In 2007 32% of the Filipinos surveyed paid bribes the previous year. According to the same report, nearly 66% stated that the government's anti-corruption initiatives are ineffective, while 79% said that they expect the level of corruption to increase in the next three years.
If you do not pay the bribes they demand, then your company will sit and rot! 45% of companies operating in the P.I. admit to having had to pay bribes in order to get things done in 2008. Just in that one single year!
More than 66% of the managers declared that it was futile to report corruption, while 49% where afraid of reprisals. You can read more if you wish.
Citizens in the Philippines generally hold the view that judges are corrupt.

(Jan 13 09) Foreign direct investments in The Philippine Islands have fallen 46.6% compared to one year ago!
That means there are lots less people to scam, cheat, and extort money from, indeed. Looks like the targets are going to have to be long-time foreign residents. All police groups have monthly quotas to meet and the monies must come from residents if there aren't enough tourist prey animals.

We were very impressed with the following story concerning keeping the children of the poor in school in the P.I. The government says, and saying and doing are two different things, indeed. But the Philippine Islands' government says it gives a whopping total of $6.30 U. S. dollars per month to the poor for food if their children stay in school! We are impressed with such a large amount. That will pay gasoline for, say, a few trips to take their children to school, will it not?
We cannot help but wonder how much of this large amount is being taken and placed in the bank accounts of the fat rats who run it!
Why insult the intelligence of our readers and the world by printing the miniscule amount? We are not impressed and neither are our readers. On a personal level the rest of the world would be embarrassed to print such a low amount as that, but you criminals are not! This clearly shows the leaders are living in a bubble without any contact with the rest of their suffering peoples. There is no hope that the oligarchy will recover either!
