((Feb 23 09)) Authorities on Monday ordered the killing of some 6,000 pigs from a hog farm in Pandi, Bulacan after they found a continuous viral transmission of the Ebola Reston Virus (ERV). That is right next door to you angeles City people. Do you believe some of that meat will be sold in your area?
What about the pigs that were quickly moved out before the inspectors arrived? where is the meat from those pigs now?
Do you expats believe that your masters will think of selling some Reston Virus infected meat in your city? After all they used the Aeta people for medical experiments.
________
((Feb 24 09)) Philippine health officials said Tuesday that a pig farm worker had become the sixth person to test positive for antibodies to the non-lethal Ebola-Reston virus.
"Samples taken from a slaughterhouse worker in the northern Philippines showed signs of antibodies for Ebola-Reston, indicating he may have been infected with the virus in the past," a health department statement said.
The slaughterhouse worker, who has not been identified, had no direct contact with the sick pigs, the department said.
The announcement came almost a month after four pig farm workers and a butcher tested positive for the antibodies.
Scientists are still trying to determine if the six caught the virus from pigs. If such a link is proved, it would be the first time humans have contracted the disease from pigs.
((People who have lived in the P.I. know what thieves they can be sometimes. This worker has, without a single doubt, been stealing meat to take home. They all do this! It starts out by stealing for himself, then for his whole family, then he steals enough to sell and on and on and on and on and on!))
________
((Mar 1 09)) Philippine health and agriculture officials arrived at a farm in this town near Manila Sunday to begin slaughtering around 6,000 pigs to prevent the spread of the Ebola-Reston virus.
Security was tight with police checkpoints set up in Bulacan province to prevent reporters from getting close to the farm where traces of the non-lethal virus had been detected.
Even houses near the farm were being secured by police to keep outsiders away.
Eric Tayag, head of the National Epidemiology Centre, told reporters that an electric stun-gun would be used to kill the pigs after which the carcasses would be burned and then buried.
He said they expected to cull only about 500 pigs Sunday but hoped later to slaughter a thousand a day, to complete the process within a week.
Aircraft were prevented from flying over the farm, Tayag said as he turned down a request from a local television station to shoot the scene from the air.
According to the World Health Organization, the strain infecting the pigs is not dangerous to humans, unlike the four deadly Ebola subtypes found in Africa.
Why keep observers away, even from flying overhead? They are not going to bury or burn the meat, mates! They are going to package it up and sell it!

Manila, October 3, 08 (AFP) - Two China-made milk products sold in the Philippines have tested positive for melamine, health officials said Friday, ordering that they be removed from store shelves immediately.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque said authorities suspect the products, under the brand names Yili and Mengniu, were illegally smuggled into the country as they do not have labels in English.
Duque played down any fears of a public health scare stemming from consumption of the products -- Green Food Yili fresh milk and a Mengniu milk drink.
"There have been no reports coming from our hospitals, whom we ordered to report to us cases of kidney problems that may have some associations with the intake of milk tainted with melamine," Duque said.
The government has shut down a Manila supermarket found to be selling the two brands, Duque said.
Last month, the government ordered Chinese-made milk products to be removed from grocery shelves after tests revealed widespread contamination with the industrial chemical melamine, which makes products appear to have more protein.
________
((Oct 27 08)) Health Secretary Francisco Duque said he has ordered the Chinese-made Croley Foods Sunflower Crackers pulled from shelves while the Bureau of Food and Drugs completes its own laboratory testing of the product.
The department,
"declares the product to be imminently injurious, unsafe and dangerous. As such, it is hereby ordered banned from distribution, sale or offer for sale or export," Duque said in a memorandum.
Hong Kong announced at the weekend that the biscuits contained melamine, the chemical at the centre of a toxic milk scandal which has rocked China's dairy industry. More

"President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Tuesday directed agencies to ensure the closure of establishments distributing and selling banned Chinese milk products."
The article did not list the establishments selling the smuggled melamine. Why not tell the public the names of these businesses? They known the names, but have already accepted bribes to not publish the names. It is all about money, don't you see?

MANILA, Philippines - Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago on Monday called as “infant killers” the Customs officials responsible for the entry of melamine-laced milk and other tainted food products into the country .((She is complaining because she was not the one that was bribed. This racist bitch is as corrupt as the ones she serves with))
Santiago on Monday filed Resolution 694 seeking to identify, prosecute and dismiss from service the Customs officials who "obviously failed to stop smuggling of melamine-positive milk products, and instead may have profited illegally from it." More

"MANILA, Philippines--The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Wednesday ordered local government units (LGUs) to make sure contaminated food products are not being sold within their jurisdictions.
This came after government health officials ordered the recall of certain peanut butter products due to risk of salmonella contamination.
In a memorandum circular, DILG secretary Ronaldo Puno urged provincial governors, city and municipal mayors and village chiefs to monitor if the peanut butter products recalled from the market were still being sold.
Earlier, the Department of Health, through the Bureau of Food and Drugs, ordered the recall of the following brands from Samuya Food Manufacturing Inc.: Mama Peanut Spread Sweet and Creamy, Ludy’s Coco Jam Special, Ludy’s Coco Jam with Langka; Mama Coco Jam; Ludy’s Coco Jam Regular; Ludy’s Coco Jam with Peanut; Sunny Cheers Peanut Butter; Yummy Sweet and Creamy Peanut Spread; and Ludy’s Sweet and Creamy Peanut Butter.
Puno also asked local governments to supervise the immediate disposal of these recalled products in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry, especially if these were still being offered for sale to the public."

UNICEF urges Philippines to reduce maternal deaths
The UN children's agency Friday urged the Philippines to do more to reduce the high rate of maternal mortality in the Southeast Asian nation.
UNICEF country representative Vanessa Tobin, on a visit to a Manila hospital where she saw babies being delivered, said the agency was puzzled why one woman dies every two hours due to complications from pregnancy and childbirth.
"We need to understand why despite the available health care services, many of our pregnant women choose to deliver without the proper care of skilled health workers," Tobin said in a statement released to journalists accompanying her on the tour.
((Hello? Hello? How about they give birth at home because they do not have the $140 needed at the poorly-run charity hospitals? Anyone home? Hello? Hello? You have your countrymen in dire poverty while your rape and pillage the resources and steal most money that enters the country from the largesse of other nations!))
Data from a 2009 UNICEF report shows a Filipina mother has a one in 140 chance of dying while delivering a child, compared with one in 8,000 in industrialized countries.
This translates to around 11 mothers dying every day or 4,500 a year due to pregnancy and childbirth complications.
Also, it said about half of the deaths of Filipino children under the age of five happen within the first four weeks of their lives.
"The health and survival of mothers and their newborns are linked, and many of the interventions that save new mothers' lives also benefit their infants," Tobin added.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque said the government was "mobilizing our resources to improve services especially for pregnant women and newborns" and encouraging local governments to provide facilities to complement those funded by the national government.
